Our Policy

These Terms & Conditions of Service apply to all dog walking, training, enrichment and group services provided by Exercise and Enrichment.

By booking or participating in any service, the Owner acknowledges that they have read, understood and agreed to these terms.

1. Liability, Risk & Responsibility

1.1 Assumption of Risk

The Owner acknowledges that participation in dog walking, training, enrichment and group sessions involves inherent risks. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Interaction with other dogs, animals or people

  • Unpredictable behaviour or reactions

  • Injury, illness or the transmission of infectious diseases

  • Escape or loss of the Dog

  • Accidents, environmental hazards or adverse weather conditions

  • Damage to property or injury caused by the Dog

The Owner understands these risks and accepts responsibility for their Dog's participation in the services provided.

1.2 Owner Responsibility

The Owner remains responsible for the behaviour and actions of their Dog at all times, including any injury or damage caused by the Dog to another person, animal or property.

The Owner agrees to release and hold harmless Exercise and Enrichment, its owner, employees and independent contractors from claims, losses, damages or expenses arising from:

  • Injury, illness or death of the Dog while participating in services or in the care or custody of the business

  • Damage to personal or real property caused by the Dog

  • Injury or damage caused by the Dog to another person or animal

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

2. Dog Health & Vaccinations

The Owner confirms that, to the best of their knowledge, their Dog:

  • Is in suitable health to participate in the booked service

  • Is free from contagious or infectious diseases

  • Is appropriately vaccinated for the activities in which they participate

  • Is maintained on appropriate flea, tick and worming prevention

The Owner must notify Exercise and Enrichment of any relevant health condition, injury, illness, behavioural concern or other circumstance that may affect the Dog's ability to safely participate.

If a Dog presents with signs of illness or a contagious condition, Exercise and Enrichment may refuse or suspend services until it is considered safe for the Dog to return.

3. Emergency Veterinary Care

The safety and wellbeing of the Dog is a priority. In the event of a medical emergency, Exercise and Enrichment will make reasonable attempts to contact the Owner and/or the nominated emergency contact.

If the Owner or emergency contact cannot be reached promptly, the Owner authorises Exercise and Enrichment to arrange veterinary care that is reasonably considered necessary for the Dog.

3.1 Emergency Veterinary Authorisation

The Owner authorises Exercise and Enrichment to:

  • Transport the Dog to the Owner's nominated veterinarian where reasonably practicable

  • Transport the Dog to the nearest available emergency veterinary clinic if the nominated veterinarian is unavailable or cannot reasonably be reached

  • Seek veterinary assessment, treatment and emergency care considered necessary to protect the Dog's health and wellbeing

3.2 Veterinary Costs

All veterinary, treatment, medication, transport and associated emergency costs are the sole responsibility of the Owner.

The Owner agrees to promptly reimburse Exercise and Enrichment for any costs paid on the Owner's behalf, or to pay the veterinary provider directly where required.

The Owner's specific emergency treatment authorisation and financial limit, where applicable, will be recorded separately in the Client Intake Form.

4. Bookings, Payment & Cancellations

4.1 Bookings

Bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed once accepted by Exercise and Enrichment.

The Owner is responsible for ensuring that they provide accurate contact, emergency contact and Dog information at the time of booking.

4.2 Cancellations & Rescheduling

More than 24 hours' notice

Bookings may be cancelled or rescheduled with more than 24 hours' notice without penalty. Where a service has been prepaid, the amount may be credited towards a future service.

Less than 24 hours' notice

Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 24 hours of the scheduled service will be charged at the full service rate.

No refund or credit will generally be provided for late cancellations, as the appointment time has been reserved specifically for the Client and their Dog.

4.3 Weather

The safety and wellbeing of the Dog, Client and Exercise and Enrichment team takes priority.

In the event of extreme or unsafe weather conditions, including severe storms, lightning, extreme heat or heatwaves, Exercise and Enrichment may:

  • Alter the location or activity

  • Shorten a session

  • Modify the service provided

  • Reschedule the service

Where a service is cancelled by Exercise and Enrichment due to unsafe weather conditions, the Client will be offered a credit or makeup session where reasonably practicable.

4.4 Payment

Services must be paid in full prior to or at the time of service, unless an alternative payment arrangement has been agreed in advance.

Outstanding or overdue payments may result in future bookings being suspended until the account is brought up to date.

5. Changes to Services

Exercise and Enrichment reserves the right to make reasonable changes to a service where required for safety, animal welfare, operational reasons or circumstances outside its reasonable control.

Where a service cannot reasonably be provided as booked, Exercise and Enrichment will communicate with the Owner and, where appropriate, offer an alternative arrangement.
